OATMEAL SMOOTHIE RECIPE

Smoothies are frequently used while on diet plans as they are very filling yet makes our body feel very light. Weight loss and weight management can be a pain sometimes as it requires a lot of patience, endurance and mental strength to not stray away and follow the diet plan to the dot.  

THE MAIN INGREDIENTS

The following are the main ingredients required to make the Banana Oatmeal Smoothie recipe:-

  1. 3 tablespoons of Oats
  2. 2 Dates
  3. 1 tablespoon of Peanuts
  4. ¼ cup of roasted peanuts
  5. 1 big Ripe Bananas (Depending on the size)
  6. 1 Amla
  7. 1 Cinnamon stick or half teaspoon powder
  8. 1 tablespoon Flax seeds
  9. 1 tablespoon Chia Seeds
  10. 1 piece of Dark Chocolate

THE OATS AND DATES MIXTURE

  1. Soak 3 tablespoons of oats and 2 dates in half cup of warm water for 10 minutes till it shifts from the picture on the left to the mixture on the right. Adjust the quantity of dates to your liking of the sweetness of the smoothie and depending on the ripeness of the banana.

HOW TO MAKE THE BANANA OATMEAL WEIGHT LOSS SMOOTHIE

  1. Take one tablespoon of peanuts and finely chop them to garnish the smoothie and set aside. They provide a crunchy texture when sprinkled on the top.
  1. Take the soaked oats and dates mixture and pour into the mixer blender jar. Add ¼ cup of roasted peanuts and one amla. Peanuts are a source of good fats and protein. Overnight soaked cashews or soaked and peeled almonds may also be used as an alternative. Amla provides good immunity and is a rich source of vitamins. If fresh amla is not available, it can be substituted with amla powder.
  1. Add one tablespoon of Flax seeds for healthy omega 3 fatty acids and one tablespoon of chia seeds for it helps in weight loss.
  1. Add one big ripe banana or couple of small ripened bananas depending on the size and banana variety for more sweetness. Add half teaspoon of cinnamon powder or 1 cinnamon stick as it boosts immunity as well as provides subtle flavour to the smoothie. Add half cup of water and blend well for a blended texture of the smoothie and transfer to a glass.
  1. Add chunks of dark chocolate and peanut crumbles on the smoothie for the crunchiness and little bitter chocolate flavour. 

The oatmeal smoothie can also be made by substituting other ingredients. For example, we could use apple instead of banana, add more dates and use cashews instead of peanuts. It’s completely customizable to suit our taste. Oats are extremely nutritious and a good source of antioxidants, fibre rich food which helps in weight loss and weight management. It may taste a little bland if the oats overpowers the sweetness of dates and fruit but the crunchy texture of the peanuts and bitter flavour of the dark chocolate comes in to save us from the blandness of oats.
